ABOUT ME & MY WORK
People come to a variety of kinds of filmmaking in a variety of kinds of ways. Some picked up cameras very young, some went to film school, others learned on the job.
In this blog I relate my particular journey into the universe of independent filmmaking – and I’d be pleased if you would share your own journey or comment on mine.
I have been a social worker, adult educator, translator, social activist, and mother. Now, in my “Third Age,” I’m a budding filmmaker. During my working days I produced 29 parenting education videos. In my retirement I’ve had the exciting opportunity to help produce a feature film (Gettin’ Grown). All of the above are in wide distribution.
I’m also now a co-writer and producer of Fruit of the Tree, a feature film in development. Our script for this film has garnered honors in four national screenplay contests, including the University Film & Video Association’s Best Screenplay 2008 and an juried Invitation to Tribeca Film Festival’s 2007 All Access Program.
Thanks for visiting my little corner of the blogosphere. I hope you enjoy the read.
